Do fasts/juice cleanses work ?

i know its not good for long term wieght loss, but i just want to lose some wieght really quick, just once.


so if i do the no food, only water and no sugar added natural grape juice cleanse for 24 to 48 hours, will i lose wieght ? and how much ?

I fast twice a year, it is a remarkable and sometimes life changing experience, not to mention cleansing your body of toxins.
There is nothing wrong with fasting. You just have to do it right.


Two to 3 day. followed by a salt water flush. You should finish your fast with a salt water beverage.. aka (flush) this will get your body back to a condition to be able to settle your stomach and get it ready to eat again.

Not very much. A change in your eating habits is really what is best for losing weight otherwise you will gain it all back.





A large majority of people will lose weight on fad diets and just gain it back because they go back to their old eating habits.





Fasting is not healthy for you, and I do not believe the whole detox thing lately work. I mean restricting your calories like that will cause you to lose weight but I doubt very much.





Maybe 1lb. Because it is 3,500 calories in a pound. So lets say you do not exercise and just have your metabolism work at it. Which we can assume is 2,000 (kinda low but it depends on your body type which I know nothing of)





Then you would lose 4,000 calories assuming you ate nothing (Horrible idea, because your body adjusts to this in the long term and can be dangerous)





Meaning maybe 1lb. (but I would use a metabolism calculator to see what your base is)
