The Master Cleanse is a fast that is often referred to as a diet. It goes by other names such as Lemonade Diet or Cayenne Pepper Diet. This cleanse is intended for 10 days although you can do it for just 3 days if you are starting out and want to get the feel for it. The lemonade is made from cayenne pepper, maple syrup, lemon juice and water and you will drink about eight glasses per day. You will not be eating solid food during the fast. In the evenings you may opt to drink a laxative tea to help move things along, or you can try a salt water flush first thing in the morning. The most important thing to know is that you must 'ease in' to the fast, and then 'ease out' of the fast. Broth soups and orange juice is recommended for both.

You will find the Master Cleanse an excellent way to detoxify and cleanse your body, with the added bonus of rapid weight loss. The Master Cleanse Diet is used by people who want to detoxify their bodies from chemicals and toxins that have piled up in their system. The Master Cleanse is a liquid diet which involves drinking at least 6 glasses a day of a lemonade mix containing lemon juice, maple syrup, water, and a little cayenne pepper. This diet is usually done for at least 10 days but should not last more than 40 days.
